Biography

Tahsin Rahman (she/her/hers) is a PhD candidate in the Health Behavior Research program in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC. She is a double Trojan, having graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies at USC in 2017. Tahsin also received her Master of Public Health in Community Health Education degree from California State University, Northridge in 2020. Her current research interests include the influence of adverse childhood experiences on later-life substance use patterns and mental health outcomes. Having recently received a TRDRP predoctoral grant, Tahsin wishes to investigate the influence of various types of childhood adversity on e-cigarette use outcomes in sexual and gender and racial/ethnic minority populations. With her research, she hopes to bolster prevention and intervention initiatives that support marginalized populations of adolescents and young adults. In her spare time, Tahsin enjoys exploring LA’s vast food scene, traveling with her loved ones, finding a new series or book to enjoy, and watching cat videos.
