Biography

Juliann Yao is an undergraduate student at USC majoring in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies and minoring in Spanish. Aside from being a research assistant at REBEL, Juliann is involved with the USC Chinese American Student Association, volunteers with Feliz en la Comunidad, a service-learning program at K-12 schools in the socially and culturally diverse communities of LA, and works to improve access to healthcare insurance with Southern California Healthcare Outreach. She is always looking for opportunities to make a positive impact on others and gain a holistic perspective. Set to graduate in 2029, Juliann hopes to attend medical school while exploring ways to expand mental health treatment. When not in class, Juliann can be found exploring LA, going to the beach, playing pickleball, or having a cozy night in with her friends.
