Biography
Dr. Caroline North is a post-doctoral research associate with the USC Real-world Evaluation in Behavioral Epidemiology Lab at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. She received a MA in psychology from Northern Arizona University and a PhD in health behavior & health education from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. North's research aims to understand the development and progression of substance use behaviors by examining the intra- and inter-personal factors associated with longitudinal changes in substance use. Specifically, her research examines the roles of mental health, personality, and peer networks on the development and progression of tobacco and cannabis use during young adulthood. She also conducts state level surveillance research on emerging tobacco and cannabis use behaviors, including vaping brand preferences and co-use of tobacco and cannabis.
